The Hub, Room 3,4 & 5
In this lecture, Dr. Haagen Klaus (bioarchaeologist, George Mason University) will describe the
discovery of one of the most important pre-Hispanic tombs found to date in South America, while Dr.
Daniel Fairbanks (forensic artist, Utah Valley University) sculpts the forensic reconstruction of the
priestess herself in front of the audience. Together, the two scientists bring together cutting-edge
archaeological and forensic techniques to reconstruct the priestess’s life and her remarkable society
in ancient Peru.
