Comprehensive exit exam/portfolio submitted during the graduation semester or, in the case of students selecting the thesis option in the music education concentration, on completion of 24 credits of course work and immediately before beginning work on the thesis. For all students other than those enrolled in the online MM in music education, this exam is usually a three-hour written test, with questions based primarily on course work the student has taken toward the degree at Mason. Students enrolled in the online MM in music education submit a comprehensive electronic portfolio in place of a comprehensive exit exam. Offered by Dewberry School of Music. May not be repeated for credit.
Recommended Prerequisite: Permission of Director of Graduate Studies
Registration Restrictions:
Enrollment limited to students with a class of Advanced to Candidacy or Graduate.
Students in a Non-Degree Post-Baccalaureate or Non-Degree Undergraduate degrees may not enroll.
