This Is Not a Museum: Portable and Lurking

Artist Conference

SATURDAY, JANUARY 26 FROM 1-5 P.M.
The Frances and Armand Hammer Auditorium at the Corcoran Gallery of Art

The exhibition This Is Not a Museum: Portable and Lurking documents and explores the process of artists who develop devices intended to make art “portable.” These projects expand the concept of, or provide an alternative to, traditional museum spaces, and this conference introduces some of the local and international artists working in this tradition. Presenters include Calder Brannock (D.C.), Floating Lab Collective (D.C.), Michael Iacovone and Michael Blasenstein (Museum of Censored Art, Washington, DC), Domènec Monsterrat (Barcelona), and Javier Toscano (Mexico City).

This symposium is the final event of a very interesting exhibit and will have  artists, writers and curators from Spain, Mexico and USA as presenters. I hope to see you there!
