How about a minor?
Students pursuing this minor must complete a minimum of 18 credits distributed as follows:
- One course (3 credits) chosen from LAS 300; GOVT 331; HIST 271; HIST 272
- Five elective courses (15 credits) in Latin American Studies from at least three departments
Students may satisfy the electives requirement with any course that contains a significant emphasis on Latin America or the culture, politics, sociology, or history of Latinos living in the United States.
Language requirement:
All Latin American studies majors and minors must demonstrate reading, speaking, or writing knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese by exam or achieving a minimum grade of 2.00 in a 300-level course.
