In addition to numerous articles on the language of US Latin@s, Dr. Santa Ana has published two award-winning books on representations of Latin@s in the US news media, and he is currently writing a book on laughter and political humor. Dr. Santa Ana will present  an expansion of "Juan in a Hundred," his analysis of television network news imaging of Latin@s.  Specifically, he will report on a narrative analysis of a year's worth of news stories about immigrants, highlighting the dominant story-types and illustrating his findings with video clips of news reports.
